Leslee Lane, sodium laureth sulfate can be made from various plant sources, including coconut or palm trees, or it can also be synthetically made. Sodium laureth sulfate is entered with the source when disclosed by the manufacturer; otherwise, it's entered without a source. Unfortunately, this brand does not disclose the source of the sodium laureth sulfate so it was entered without a source.

I am severely allergic to coconut, so the question above would be good to know.

This is marked coconut free but it contains sodium lauryl sulfate, which comes from either coconut or palm oil. Has SkinSAFE verified that the product uses a palm oil based version?

How often is this data base updated? This mascara from Sephora has been out of stock and quite possibly discontinued.
